People who know the College of Chemical and Life Sciences—students, alumni, faculty members, corporate partners and collaborators—know the value of supporting its research priorities and academic programs.Their generosity impacts our students and research every day.
  • It might be a physician alumna who recognizes the school’s role in launching her professional career and wants to help outstanding undergraduates prepare for their own careers in medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine…such as Dr. Victoria Yorke who founded the John W. Reed Memorial Endowment to provide both scholarships and critical advising services.
  • or a venture capitalist who wants students in the biological sciences to gain the business skills needed to one day lead biotechnology companies…such as alumnus Allan Will who founded the Will Course in Entrepeneurship to educate the next generation of CEOs.
  •  or a loyal Terp and business leader who wants to support oyster restoration projects in the Chesapeake Bay…such as alumna Billie Lee Wells who supported graduate students working in the MEES program on such efforts.

All these people not only recognize the important contributions that the College is making in chemistry and life science research and education, they realize that the College’s continuing progress and success depends on individual and organizational donors committed to providing critical funds beyond that supplied by public sources.  They took action and became donors to the College of Chemical and Life Sciences.
