Study Abroad
Interested in studying HIV/AIDS in Western Europe over your summer break? How about exploring Mayan ruins and the ecology of coral reef systems in Belize over your winter recess?

Students in the College of Chemical and Life Sciences have many opportunities to study abroad. Advisors in the College and in the Study Abroad Office will work with you to craft your four year plan to include a semester or winter or summer term study abroad.
We strongly encourage you to explore the courses and programs that are offered to students at the University of Maryland and consider some time abroad while studying.
The College of Chemical and Life Sciences supports short term and semester study abroad programs that broaden your horizons. You will receive a diverse and global perspective while earning usable credits towards your degree. In addition, you are in for an experience that will change your life!
The courses listed at right are specifically geared for credit in CLFS departmental programs. College Park Scholars-Life Sciences sponsors trips to Australia and Belize for interested students in the College. College Park Scholars-Earth, Life, and Time offers a summer trip to the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador during even years. HIV/AIDS in Western Europe is offered annually in cooperation with the Danish Institute for Study Abroad for highly motivated students with interest in pursuing careers in medicine and other health professions.
